Immersive yourself in Culture House Immersive
Hi Friends!
Happy friday!! It’s a big news week over here at Culture House. So big in fact that we are dedicating an entire newsletter to what is going on at Culture House Immersive! You may remember that last summer we launched our immersive company when we joined up with Mikhael Tara Garver. Culture House Immersive is a ground breaking entertainment studio founded by Culture House Media and Mikhael Tara Garver to create, develop, and distribute immersive experiences and story worlds.
Mikhael and I have been friends for years and I’ve always been captivated by her work and the way she leads in the immersive field. When the idea came about to join forces, it was an obvious, Marie Kondo level, YES.
"The global immersive entertainment market size is expected to reach USD 426.77 billion by 2030, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 23.6% from 2023 to 2030.” Who’s ready?!! 🙋🏽♀️🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️🙋🏼♀️
Over the last year, we have been heads down, plotting and scheming the future of immersive and what it means to do it our way. We are so excited to finally share what we are up to. Moving forward, keep an eye out for a dedicated Immersive newsletter every month or so.
So, on to our big news! Which is coming with a 101 primer on immersive in the style of an FAQ because we love you, and care about your reading experience here at the Culture House Weekly 🙂
We are launching our inaugural IMMERSIVE INCUBATOR!!!
Great! Cute! Love it! But (FAQ #1) What does that actually mean, babe?
As you may know, immersive is a lot of things - it can be a digital experience, it can be live and in person (think concerts or live sports), it can be your favorite story from 2-D coming to life like the Stranger Things experience or Disney. But the true hallmark of quality immersive is that it gives you the feeling of being part of something larger than yourself. Mikhael has spent decades building out universe-building collective experiences where you feel that feeling, all within a narrative, a story.
The field is still new. And the tricky part for lots of brilliant creators has been how to build immersive experiences that succeed, both creatively and financially.
That’s where the incubator comes in! With the incubator, Culture House Immersive is building the pipeline of best-in-class commercially viable immersive projects.
What’s that, BB? (FAQ #2) How will it work? Well! I’m so glad you asked.
To accelerate the pipeline - Culture House Immersive (in collab with strategic partners and co-producers around the country) selected 12-15 projects that will go through CHI’s unique development process. Projects will be designed for a range of locations, from planetariums and civic spaces to under-utilized malls, sport arenas, and roller rinks, and engage immersive technologies across the Extended Technology (XR) spectrum.
(FAQ #3) Then what?!
Then we shepherd these packages to development and production via our upcoming 2025 Slate, one-off production opportunities, or our distribution network. The incubator helps us create a vetted group of projects for our 2025 Slate (which we have already begun successfully raising money for this past quarter!).
FAQ #4 Am I right to be super excited? YES
Founder and Head of Culture House Immersive, Mikhael Tara Garver has this to say: "We’re not just talking about creative incubation, we’re building a smart business, a new sustainable financial model that works for us as well as for our creators. We know that the field needs quality for the consumer demand, venues need immersive experiences that satiate the audience desire. By intentionally and thoughtfully creating work at the nexus of brands, entertainment, technology, and localized arts centers, we are reducing risk for investment while increasing creativity and imagination…”
We are so excited about this expansion of Culture House. But as we all know, empires of one don’t exist, we have a WORLD CLASS team running the show at CHI and the incubator.
